Ghost Town




A city in Humberstone, Chile turned into a ghost town. No less than 100 years the city was inhabited since abandoned by its inhabitants.Humberstone founded in 1862 and became the epicenter for Chile as a producer of sodium nitrate used in explosives. The city was also known as an agricultural town.
Change from rama city into a ghost town, began in 1940. At that time, approximately 3,700 people living in Humberstone Mexico are watching a movie in the theater and operetta Spanish city.

However, the theater building collapsed, killing everyone inside. Since then a lot of noise the screams of people in the former building and also there is a apparition appears in the photo.

In 1959 the industrial activities in the city had been closed due to bankruptcy and the workers have found new jobs in other areas.
City that was once so advanced now become deserted, while the people's possessions lay abandoned. Clothing, shoes and other items left alone until the dust.


Humberstone declared a national monument by the government of Chile in 1970 and became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2005.


However, after years of earthquakes and vandalism that occurred in the city resulted in the city is included in the world heritage list of the most dangerous and the city is known as the City of Ghosts.
