9. At 1:00 in the morning  the alarm clock on the table beside the bed rang

The answer is RIGHT.

Because, there is the subject and the verb in the sentence.

The alarm clock on the table beside the bed as The Subject.  The alarm clock on the table beside the bed as a clue  in the sentence

And then, rang as Verb2. Rang is the result of the subject.

EXERCISE B

1. During the meeting in the office discussed the schedule.

The answer is WRONG.

Because, In the sentence have verb. Not have subject. In the sentence was not told who is meeting.

And then, Disussed as verb.  Because in the sentence  there is activities.

The correct sentence is “ During the meeting in the office we discussed the schedule.

There “we” as people are discussing.
